Shine Social Research & Analytics is founded by Yolanda van Gellecum.
Yolanda trained at The University of Queensland Institute of Social Research. She has specialised in survey design and advanced statistical modelling spanning a range of areas including: government, education, epidemiology, and sociology.
Yolanda has led numerous program evaluations and commissioned research for strategy and policy development. She has also led research reports within the higher education sector examining student performance metrics for the purposes of Federal compliance reporting. Within the academic setting, Yolanda has lectured and tutored extensively in introductory and advanced statistics, and research methods.
She has also co-authored numerous peer reviewed scientific journal publications within the areas of epidemiology and sociology. Areas of publication include longitudinal modelling of organisational systems data with clinical performance data for Australian hospitals; modelling epidemiological panel data for the effects of physical activity on quality of life; analysis of the Australian Labour market and gender pay gap; and geospatial distribution of socio-economic outcomes across Australian communities.
